Errol Parish Church Records show there was an organised Christian presence in the Carse of Gowrie since the 13'h century but there is virtually no information about the pre-Reformation church. Succeeding an earlier Parish Church in the old graveyard, the present building, modelled on a design of the English Norman Churches and opened in 1833, is known locally as the ‘Cathedral of the Carse'. Architectural features include a fine stained glass window depicting scenes from the life of Christ, a richly carved oak pulpit, an exact replica of that of Iona Abbey, a ‘handsome' organ and a clock in the tower installed in 1902 in memory of a former minister.
