St Martin’s is a charming old building, set in the churchyard in a very peaceful rural setting. The present church building was completed in 1842 but for centuries the site has been a centre for Christian worship. The attractive well-maintained sanctuary accommodates 450. It is T-shaped with the Precentor’s box below the pulpit. Close by is the Session House and the room used by the Sunday School. Other Church events take place in the Guildtown and Balbeggie village halls. The parish extends from Wolfhill in the north to Scone New in the south, encompassing the villages of Balbeggie and Guildtown. |
