Auchterarder Parish Church
Auchterarder is rich in ecclesiastical history and theological disputes spanning from the 1559 Treaty to 1883's The Disruption. The 17th Century Parish Church Tower still stands in the old graveyard in the centre of the town. The present Church has evolved as the result of 3 Churches uniting through the, years. The present Church building was opened in 1905, the architects were Messrs. Honeyman, Keppie & Macintosh (the last named partner was Charles Rennie Macintosh). The building is listed "B" of architectural and historical interest. The Church is situated strategically in the High Street of the "Lang Toon" just opposite the Police Station. There are 900 members of the congregation, and growing year by year. There is a crèche for the 11.00am worship, a very busy Sunday School and Bible Class. The Finlayson hall, which is adjacent to the old Barony Church, is where the Mother & Toddler Group, Bizzy Bees Playgroup, the Scout Group and many other organisations meet, Monday - Friday. The Church office is also located here and is open Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings. Further information maybe obtained from the office Tel: 01764 660152 or e-mail Christine@apkirk.swinternet.co.uk
