Auchterarder is rich in ecclesiastical history and theological disputes spanning from the 1559 Treaty to 1883's The Disruption. The 17th Century Parish Church Tower still stands in the old graveyard in the centre of the town. The present Church has evolved as the result of 3 Churches uniting through the, years. The present Church building was opened in 1905, the architects were Messrs. Honeyman, Keppie & Macintosh (the last named partner was Charles Rennie Macintosh). The building is listed "B" of architectural and historical interest. The Church is situated strategically in the High Street of the "Lang Toon" just opposite the Police Station. In 2010 a brand new Church Centre adjoining the church was built and opened to accommodate the many activities which the church supports including the New Gen Sunday worship, which is child-friendly and designed for families, the 50/50 club providing lunch and fellowship for super-adults of the community, and is available for both community and church ventures. There are superb facilities, including sound system, catering facilities and space designed for children.
