Hospital Chaplaincy
Coming into hospital may cause anxiety for both patients and their families and friends which may cause spiritual distress.
All NHS Tayside Chaplains work in an open, non-judgemental way, and are happy to meet with people whether they have a particular faith or none.
The Chaplains/Spiritual Care Team are committed to supporting people in whatever way is most appropriate for them such as:
*contacting a patient's own minister, priest or faith leader if asked to do so.
*visiting patients where ministers are unable to do so because of distance, illness, etc.
*offering support through listening, prayer or sacraments, or just being there.
*providing quiet spaces where ministers can meet with patients and/or their families. Please note you are welcome to use the quiet rooms in the Spiritual Care Centres for this purpose. Please contact the Chaplain to arrange this if you wish to use the Ninewells room.
Chaplains are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the on-call system which can be accessed by asking a member of ward staff.
