Welcome to the Presbytery of Perth
The Presbytery of Perth came into existence on 1 January 2023 and is made up of the geographical areas covered by the former Presbyteries of Angus, Perth, Dundee, Dunkeld & Meigle and Stirling. It meets for ordinary business four times per year (twice in person and twice online) and meets at other times (e.g. for conferences, ordinations and inductions of ministers etc.) as determined by the Presbytery.
The Presbytery of Perth is part of the Church of Scotland. Each congregation is represented by ministers, deacons and elders and takes part in local decision making.
We meet to worship, learn, share and make administrative decisions. Our meetings are open to the public apart from occasional private items. In between meetings a variety of committees deal with the ongoing business of the Presbytery.
Our meetings are chaired by a ‘Moderator’ who is elected each year. The Moderator also leads our communal worship, for example when new ministers are welcomed into our community.
